That too, 1 billion in the first 60 years and
Second billion in last six years.
The farmers in India commit suicide in lakhs during this period.
India is rich but Indians poor.
Why?

If the reports appearing in the media is right:
. Why?
- One third of the world's extremely poor are Indians.
- Over 60% of Indians cannot buy food for mere survival without subsidy.
Wealth of nation not reaching citizen.
- Indian subcontinent was enslaved and impoverished by invaders from every part of the world for over 1000 years.
- Rulers have changed after independence. But by their Mind-set, the rulers are still invaders.
- Divide & Rule, was the trick the invaders played. Our leaders too follow the same.
- Kept the population impoverished. Any impoverished minds cannot Remember & Think. Anyone with acute debilities in Remembering & Thinking are no better than cattle that we enslave and exploit.
- In political systems there are increasing number of people who collectively exploit the poor. If religions and words of wise among our ancestors are to be believed, then these people who
- exploit will take birth as Exploited in future generations.

Leaders exploit poor abilities of people to amass wealth. to come back to power, election after election, through false promises.
Though defective, the education is doing good to the poor! The leaders mislead the poor that education can get employment, through which economic & Social changes for better.
Leaders too have highly limited Thinking abilities, due to greed and ignorance. They are, invariably elected by people who do not have abilities to distinguish between "Jumla & Promise" that is kept-up :
Some sincere LS member can launch a Private member bill in LS and see how many members support it.
Any well meaning LS Members can move a private member bill.

2. No personal mobilization called rallies that results in huge spending by Political parties with source of income unknown.
3. The amount spent is so large that it can be put to use for the poor among the common man.
4. Election commission should be given powers to punish people guilty of malpractices given severest punishment - like life-long -life-sentence,
5. Now most traditional parties conduct election campaigns, (as per media reports and evidences seen in TV Channels for such spending), with money from rich traders & Industry.
After elections, such spending by Corporate houses are are replenished several fold overtly and covertly, by whichever the new government that is formed.
6. The nation's productivity, during election times State level / Central elections comes down, official machinery comes to a near halt. (Dr Kiran Bedi, rightly criticized the extravagant spending and long election process that paralyzed the society for the entire duration of the election campaigning).

7. Parties announce promises and after election declared them as Jumla & escape.
8. Why spending several thousands of crores for spreading Jumlas, the promises that would never be kept-up..

9. Promises by Parties to public to be announced in "quantifiable terms "
10. Time frame (before the next elections) for each to be declared.
11. If the party fails in promises .the persons who would be held responsible and undergo punishment should be declared.
12. The quantum of punishment for each failed promises also to be announced.
13. No vague or non-measureable slogans shall be allowed. (Example: Acche Din, Garibi Hatao in 20 years, India shining, world super power status in 20 years, poverty free in 40 years).
